How can forms of exploitation of the natural commons be addressed in the climate crisis? How are decisions taken in the case of resources that belong to all of humanity? Can art play a role, and what kind of practices can help to claim the protection of these resources? The promises and challenges of the commons have engaged many artists over the past two decades. This article focuses on artistic practices that engage with natural commons and on forms of awareness, activism and action through artistic initiatives.
